Lincoln University Women’s Soccer Wins the South Western States Conference Championship
Heading into the season’s last two games, the LU Oaks needed two wins on the road to win the conference title. The Oaks travelled to Los Angeles, CA where they beat Stanton University 5-0. Bianca Coad had a hat trick and Yvette Mareno scored two goals to seal the win. The Oaks needed one more win on the road in Arizona against Justice College to win the Championship. The game didn’t start off well for LU as Justice went up 2-0. The Oaks scored two goals before halftime to tie it up. Yvette Mareno had a brace before Ally Thompson scored the winner in the second half. A late goal from Maddie Moore sealed the Championship for the Oaks. Coach McCallion received the Coach of the Year Award while Bianca Coad received the Player of the Year Award. Congratulations Women’s Soccer on a job well done!
